Abstract Submission

Scientific Committee is pleased to invite your participation in oral presentation/poster presentation/workshop/symposium/debate. Participants must be registered. Last date of abstract submission is 15 October, 2017.  


Guidelines for submission:

1. Abstract must present a clear and concise summary of the work.

2. All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.

3. Title must appear in upper and lower case bold Letters. Maximum length of title will be in 30 words.

4. Abstract length must not exceed 300 words.

5. For Original Article- the following headings must appear in bold: Background/Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

6. For Review Article- the following headings must appear in bold: Background/Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

7. For Case Report- the following headings must appear in bold: Background/Objective, Case Study, Discussion.

8. For topic presentation, workshop or symposium, abstract needs no specific format.

9. In case of Poster Presentation the text and illustrations should be readable from distance of 2 meters.

10. Use Times New Roman font, 10 point with 1” left and right margins.

11. Presentations have to be at least Microsoft Office 2008 compatible.

12. All abstract should be submitted electronically.

13. A short bio-data (maximum 150 words) and photograph of the presenter should be provided along with the abstract.

14. Photograph should be separately attached to mail as well as should be inserted in the bio-data.

Welcome you all to the 9th International Conference on Psychiatry  (ICP) organized by Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) on 11-12 December 2017 in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The theme of the conference is “Urbanization and Mental Health: Issues and Concerns”.

Urbanization is a process leading to the growth of the cities. This includes social, economic and psychological changes that constitute the demographic movement. Urban life itself becomes a concern for mental health professionals due to its overwhelming impact on psychological well being of individuals through the influence of increased stressors, such as highly competitive and overcrowded environment, high levels of violence and isolation.

Scientific committee is committed to provide an intellectually stimulating experience to the delegates with the recent advancements, controversies and future directions of psychiatry. Participants will enjoy the plenaries, symposia, debates, workshops, oral presentations and e-posters along with eye opening thoughts and discussions from top experts in the field.

CME Programme will be held on 1st August 2017 in Rajshahi

Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) has organized its upcoming CME Programme in Rajshahi Medical College on 01 August, 2017. Professor Dr. Mamun Hussain, Head of the Department of Psychiatry of Rajshahi Medical College will speak on “Disease Called Addiction: Emerging Evidence and Debate”.

Executive Committee Meeting Held On 9 July, 2017

Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP)’s executive committee meeting was held at National Institute of Mental Health on 9 July, 2017. President of the BAP Professor Dr. Waziul Alam Chowdhury chaired the meeting. Members discussed about the preparation of 9th International Conference on Psychiatry which will be held in Cox’s Bazar at the end of this year. Members explored the conference theme, venue, recruitment and management of attendees, and conference schedule.

BAP’s new journal editorial board was also approved by the committee. Recently the Bangladesh Journal of Psychiatry started publishing its online version in www.banglajol.info/index.php/bjpsy/index. ; the largest online collection of Bangladeshi Journals. It can also be read at the official website of BAP at www.bapbd.org/journals/. Journal Committee was also hopeful about getting online ISSN within a short time and discussed about reducing the gap between publications and inclusion to internationally recognized journal websites like PubMed, Google scholar etc.  The meeting ended with a discussion on current drug abuse state of the country and rehabilitation policies.

9th International Conference on Psychiatry will be on 11-12 December, 2017 in Cox’s Bazar

9th International Conference on Psychiatry (ICP) organized by Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) will be held on December 11-12, 2017 in Cox’ s Bazar, Bangladesh. The 9th ICP will provide an opportunity for the attendees to update and expand their knowledge in innovative research and challenging domains of psychiatry, psychopharmacology, neuroscience, and neuroimaging through contribution from distinguished local and international speakers. Specialists will share their own experiences regarding new clinical trial data and latest developments in the field through conferences, panels, workshops, expert meetings and lively debates.

Venue for this conference is the Sayeman Beach Resort, Cox’s Bazar. While benefiting from the scientific sessions at the conference you may want to take some time to relax in the sunny weather of Cox’s Bazar and enjoy the beauty of the longest sea beach of the world with delicious local dishes.

EC Meeting 09.07.2017

The next EC meeting of BAP will be held on  at 12 pm, 09.07.2017 in Multipurpose Hall of NIMH. All EC members are requested to attend the meeting.

Reception of New EC Committee

Reception of new committee of Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) was held on 23 May, 2017 in Marriot Convention Center, Dhaka. Members all over Bangladesh were present in the ceremony. The reception ceremony was presided over  by Prof Hidayetul Islam.

4th Annual General Meeting of BAP

4th Annual General Meeting of BAP 4th Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists, Sylhet Branch, BAP Sylhet was held on 10 May, 2017 in Nazimgarh Resort, Sylhet. The AGM was presided over by Prof Gopal Sanker Roy. Prof Md Waziul Alam Chowdhury, President, BAP and Prof M A Mohit, General Secretary, BAP were present as chief guest & special guest. Prof Rezaul Karim, Prof Gopi Kanto Roy were also present in the session. Dr R K S Royle, GS, BAP Sylhet, Dr Ahmed Ryad Chowdhury, Tressurer, BAP Sylhet said about the activities of BAP Sylhet in their speech. Post creation and undergraduate course curriculum have been discussed in the meeting with special emphasis. Besides these, issue regarding BAP Sylhet future plan, BAP website, increase the number of branches of BAP, Journal were also been discussed. Other than President, GS other members of EC committee, Dr Muhammad Zillur Rahman Khan, Dr Mekhala Sarkar and Dr Mohammad Tariqul Alam were also present. The busieness meeting was followed by scientific seminar where role of Lamotrigine in mood disorder and update on Lamicet were discussed in two successive sessions. The program was ended by a colorful cultural program.
