BD Association of Psychiatrists

Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) is a non-profiting, non-political, professional forum of persons related to psychiatry and related subjects. This was established in 1975 with the aim to promote mental health and to advance the subject of Psychiatry across the country. Maintaining spirit of unity, co-operation, solidarity and fellow feeling among psychiatrists of Bangladesh are also key intents on which it is based on.

BAP celebrates World Mental Health Day every year and organizes International Conference two yearly. At present this organization is representing around 150 psychiatrists and persons devoted to mental health activities. Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) is a voice for dignity and human rights of patients and upholding the rights of psychiatrists.

Celebration of Mental Health Day 2012

Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) has celebrated The World Mental Health Day in joint collaboration with National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) on 10th October 2012. Theme of this year for this day was ‘Depression: A Global Crisis’. Following activities were done for celebrating the day.

Rally: A colorful rally with banners, festoons started from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib University (BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka and ended at National Press Club, Dhaka. All mental Heath professionals including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychiatric Nurses, and others from different parts of the country actively participated in the rally. The rally started at 7.30 am.
